Jarrod Fairclough – 40 years ago a small frog plucked his banjo in to cinematic history, when The Muppet Movie premiered on June 20th 1979. Since then The Muppets have released 7 more theatrical films, and have maintained (with a little waivering) their place in pop culture.
Now, that movie that started it all is coming back to cinemas across the United States for two days only to celebrate the milestone 40th anniversary! Next month, on Thursday July 25th and Tuesday July 30th, screens will light up as Fozzie drives a rainbow studebaker, Animal crashes through a saloon roof, and Miss Piggy falls in love like never before.
Head here to find out where it might be showing in your vicinity – and if you aren’t getting any results, be sure to click ‘Show more theatre locations’ and you’ll get all results within a whopping 200 mile radius. We know 200 miles is a long way to go to see The Muppet Movie on the big screen, but you can play Moving Right Along the entire time!
