No, it’s not the name of a new low-budget film. The Muppets are being honored with a group star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. No, not the one in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the one in Hollywood, California!
For those of you who might not know, The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a stretch of sidewalk on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard that features stars with the names of influential members in the industries of film, television, and stage. Jim Henson, Kermit, and Big Bird all have their own stars on the walk, and hundreds of others who have worked with the Muppets in the past have their own stars as well. (For a complete list of Muppet connections on the Walk, check Muppet Wiki.)
The Muppets will be the latest addition to the Walk of Fame come 2011. They will be inducted alongside the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Danny DeVito, Tina Fey, and Neil Patrick Harris. There is likely to be a huge ceremony with the Muppets when they unveil the star sometime next year, so as more information surfaces, you know The Muppet Mindset will have it for you!
Here’s hoping Miss Piggy doesn’t throw too big of a fit when she finds out she’s not getting her own star.
